What is Security versus IT?

First things first let’s start with information technology. Information technology is the hardware that is joined collectively to a network to create infrastructure.

Security, while related to information technology is a tad different. Simply put IT is about setting up the servers and making them available and security is IT with good hygiene.

Security is there to take the hardware and “secure” it as much as possible to allow business operations to continue consistently without interruption.

“Security” is not a real thing. It is an active pursuit in the unattainable; bugs, hackers, and software will always be a detriment to the ambition of security.

As always. Stay curious my friends.
