Asking Questions

While I want most of this blog to be about technical issues and technical learning within the industry, but I want to add this. This will be a short one but I think a needed one.

Do not be afraid to ask questions. There is no such thing as stupid questions… just stupid people.

(That was a joke. I thought it was funny but you probably did not.)

Honestly though, today I asked a person in the industry a question that I was scared to ask and I asked my wife, “hey do you think this is a stupid question?” She looked at me with a straight face and said “if you want an answer to the question, then it isn’t stupid is it?”

That one answer changed my whole perspective on asking a “Stupid” question. So I asked it. I haven’t gotten an answer because it was on LinkedIn yet but hopefully I do get an answer. Please go out there and ask your questions others may think it’s dumb or even laugh at you but not having the information that you felt you needed an answer for may hurt you in the future.
